A 2002 recipient of the Christian A. Herter Memorial Scholarship, Luz Angelica Mederos-Dorleans received her B.S. in business administration from Northeastern University and is now continuing her education there, pursuing her master’s in school counseling.
She works currently as a Support Services Senior Associate at The Steppingstone Foundation, which develops and implements programs that prepare underserved students for college opportunities and success. She has been at Steppingstone for the last five years, and it is the reason that she has decided to pursue her master’s in school counseling.
Prior to joining Steppingstone, Luz Angelica volunteered at Bottom Line and Northeastern’s Legacy 2000, as a peer mentor providing one-on-one support to new students at Northeastern University. Her future goal is to work at a middle school in Boston as a school counselor.
