As of July 16, 2024:
Eastern Nazarene College (ENC) leadership has notified the Department of Higher Education (DHE) that on Saturday, June 22, 2024, the ENC Board of Trustees voted to authorize ENC’s president to prepare a plan to take steps toward closure. ENC has further informed DHE that the institution is not accepting a new class for Fall 2024 and is exploring winding down operations by the end of this academic year. DHE is presently working with ENC leadership on the institution’s plans for ensuring enrolled students can continue their studies, which must include multiple transfer options for students.
Read the statement from ENC leadership here.
While any institutional closure can be challenging for members of a campus community, ENC’s leadership has identified some initial transfer options for students to continue their degrees with minimal disruption. DHE remains committed to working closely with ENC to support an orderly closure process to ensure that all available resources are leveraged to support students, family members, faculty, and staff. Information about transfer agreements and resources will continue to be posted on ENC’s website, and cross-referenced here as necessary.
