The Massachusetts Board of Higher Education (the Board) is the Commonwealth’s state higher education authority with coordinating and regulatory authority over all public and private higher education institutions operating in the Commonwealth and authorized to grant degrees. The Board is staffed by the Department of Higher Education (the Department), which is run by a Commissioner who serves as the executive and administrative head of the Department, and Secretary to the Board. Together, the Board and Department are the leading voice and advocate for post-secondary education in the Commonwealth, serving critical roles as the state’s regulator of state authorization and consumer protection.
The Director of Constituent and Legislative Affairs will play a vital role in advancing the Massachusetts Department of Higher Education's (DHE) mission to promote excellence and access to higher education by building and fostering strong relationships with the legislature and constituent groups. This role will be responsible for leading DHE's legislative strategy, collaborating with key stakeholders, and advocating for policies that align with DHE's mission.
The Associate Director for Student Financial Assistance will assist with administrating statewide financial aid programs and initiatives including the Financial Aid Advisory Committee; Police Career Incentive Pay Program; Hazing Compliance; and the Massachusetts High Demand Scholarship program. The Associate Director is also responsible for supporting data collection efforts and conducting background research for policy development recommendations that promote college access and the enhancement of student success in higher education. The Associate Director supports the Department of Higher Education’s efforts to ensure the integrity of all financial aid programs and related initiatives, as defined and within alignment with the agency’s equity strategic plan.
The Communications Associate will play a vital role in advancing the Massachusetts Department of Higher Education's (DHE) mission to promote excellence and access to higher education. Reporting to the Director of Strategic Communications, the role will support DHE’s communication with the media, external stakeholders, and the public and will be central to promoting DHE’s work and priorities.
