Born and raised in Springfield, MA, Dr. Arielle Hope Sheftall, received the Herter Scholarship in 1999 and began her journey in academia.
In 2004, she received a bachelor’s degree in Biobehavioral Health, with a minor in Psychology, from Pennsylvania State University. Dr. Sheftall went on to Ohio State University, where she earned a master’s degree in 2006 and in 2010 earned a Ph.D. in Human Development and Family Science.
Currently, Dr. Sheftall is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the Research Institute at Nationwide Children’s Hospital in Columbus, OH. She aspires to develop new interventions and prevention programs aimed at reducing the incidence of suicide attempts and deaths in teens.
